Happy Days!

I had another good day today. Jasper, Gabriel and I have been enjoying going on walks and today was no different. We were gone for most of the afternoon (as we visited 2 family members' houses) but about 2 hours of that was us walking along. I must be getting fitter because I may have slowed down but I certainly wasn't tired even at the end! The pics are from our walk yesterday. We've had some lovely days!

Oooh, I can hear Gabriel waking up for a feed so best go. Just wanted to say that he slept through last night...one feed at 8:30pm and the next at 6:30am! Now I just need to add a feed somewhere (as he was already only having 5). He's woken a little early so it might not be too difficult.

Settling into the family

I think it's finally safe to say that Gabriel has settled in! He still has his reflux/colic issues but we're all now unsurprised by anything that goes on. ha ha. Using 'unsurprised' as a barometer of how settled we are obviously isn't the optimal situation but I'll take it. I'm having some brilliant days and some not so great, as is understandable. Yesterday was absolutely terrible but the day before was a dream! We were all dressed and out the door at 11:30am going for a walk. We got back and Jasper and I ate some lunch, then Gabriel had lunch, then Jasper went to bed and I started on dinner (in the slow cooker). Gabriel then went to bed as Jasper woke up so we baked some patty cakes and played while Gabriel slept for an amazing 2 hours! It was also the first day we ensured Jasper ate and drank at the dining table ony (apart from water which is always available to him). We were just finding that food was all through the lounge room and even in his bed as he wandered around snacking all day. The new routine went surprisingly well and the day actually had some structure! Don't know what went on yesterday though, it was a mess of a day where I had to fight Jasper for every little thing. I have heard though that when starting a new routine a toddler will usually resist before they learn to enjoy the structure. We will persevere.

How did we fare on our walk you might be wondering? Actually quite well thanks to my sisters M and K who pitched in and got us an ergo organic carrier for Gabriel! Here's a pic of me wearing him the day we got it (why am I always in my pj's for such shots??), and then a pic of him sleeping soundly on the infant insert after being in it. He seems to really like it. It's a little big for me (not as secure on the shoulders despite being on the tightest setting there) but otherwise it's brilliant! Will serve us well for at least a few more years!

Well I had best be off as Jasper is re-arranging the furniture and Gabriel is bound to wake any moment. When he does we are off on another walk!
