Belly preservation

On September 7th 2006 this is what Remmy and I were doing:

On May 3rd 2008 (the Saturday just gone) we were doing it again:

These belly casts are from kits called birthing bellies...

...they're designed to preserve the shape and size of your pregnant belly! I am so proud that we were prepared enough to cast my belly at exactly the same gestation both times (37wks + 2days), it makes for awesome comparisons!

When we'd finished my cast on Saturday we were both shocked to see how much narrower I am this time around! We went on an ice-cream binge even, thinking that I'd done such a good job of keeping my weight down. I thought about taking some piccies of the two casts on the dining table before bed but, in the end, just waited until the morning. Turns out I was only as wide as I was in the cast of my Jasper-bump because of the weight of the plaster while it dried! I was most disappointed to see that my current bump was almost exactly the same as my Jasper-bump come morning. I think I'm definitely sticking out in front more this time though...could be because I'm less toned! ha ha Here's some comparison piccies...in the last two pics the new cast is the one drying on the green towels.
